What is Mil Spec Webbing?

A United States Defense Standard, often called a military standard, "MIL-STD", "MIL-SPEC", or (informally) "MilSpecs", is used to help achieve standardization objectives by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Types

This Flat Nylon is a commercial version of mil-spec 17337. It is a thin (0.040 inches), tight, coarse weave used most often in rifle slings. We offer this for sale by the foot. This webbing is also very good for strap adjuster straps used in backpacking.

Military flat nylon is also available in 3/4 inch, 1-3/4 inch  mil spec 4088 1 inch.  Other nylon webbing options include: Flat nylon webbing in 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch1-1/2 inch, and 2 inch widths. Flat nylon tape 1/2 inch, 1 inch and scuba webbing made with nylon 1-7/8 inch.

This is an actual Mil Spec webbing, # 4088. It is available in 1 Inch, and sold by the FOOT. It has a thickness of 0.060", and works great for rifle slings, strap adjuster straps, tent straps, backpacking, and much more.
